Asini Fishing

Fisheries play a major part in the Samoan economy and provides for the bulk of the local protein inake. Those that live by the sea, are nourished by the sea. Eco Pirates are determined to establish a fleet of fishing boats that promote an more sustainable and eco friendly fishing method (trolling) to assis with the provision of food security, update and modernise the domestic fleet.

The Mission

We will take affirmative action to

- To ensure that local people can access local fish.

- Transport working fishing boats from NZ to Samoa to be operated in partnership with Aiga in Samoa to uplift aiga participation in the economy

- Promote safety, seamanship and access to technology and expertise on the sea to fishers in Samoa including coms, safety gear, ship upgrades i.e fish finders, radar. This will include the establishment of a Fishers Collective.

- Facilitate feasible export which will contribute to local employment and development of the Samoan economy.

This is our fantastic plan to partner with investors, skippers and fishers in NZ to enable a project that allows us to provide food to the people while uplifting income and access to health, education, housing for our aiga.
