The Next Eco-Pirates Mission Is On!

We’re thrilled to announce that our very own Eco-Pirate Connor and his awesome whanau are setting sail on the next big chapter of the mission — a full year living and working in sunny Samoa!

With a wealth of experience in everything from sustainable agriculture to community development, Connor is an absolute treasure — and his commitment, alongside his family's, fills us with deep gratitude. Their island adventure will be both bold and beautiful.

Basecamp: ApiaThe family will begin their stay in Apia to get their bearings, establish a homeschooling rhythm, and immerse themselves in local life before diving into full-scale project action.

What's on deck?Together with the support of local aiga and the wider Fuataga-Asini Clan, the crew will kickstart a number of game-changing Eco-Pirates initiatives:

  • 🐝 Establish the first 50 beehives

  • 🌿 Propagate the first 1000 vanilla vines

  • 🛖 Build the first 12 beach fale

  • 🪸 Plant coral reef farming colonies at family land in Lalomanu

And that’s just the beginning.

More Pirates Incoming!Soon, they’ll be joined by more volunteers flying the Eco-Pirate flag out of Christchurch:

  • 📸 Rob is on a mission to capture 1000 snapshots of Samoa

  • 🌳 Dylan is off to plant cocoa trees and yes — make bricks!

Between the hard mahi, there’ll be plenty of time to surf, swim, fish, hike the jungle, and connect with the people — living simply and meaningfully on the beach.
